The Origami artifact
Inspired by transformation,
the Origami Artifact moves between sculpture and function while preserving the memory of where it began.
Materials
• Outer shell: bioplastic derived from pinto beans
• Interior structure: deadstock Hermès twill
• Inner lining: mulberry paper leather
Mulberry paper leather is an advanced material inspired by more than 1,300 years of Korean Hanji papermaking and further developed through modern materials engineering to achieve the look and feel of leather. The material has undergone testing for a range of performance characteristics, including antibacterial properties and biodegradation.
